Surprise! I'm not actually Merlin, I'm Jun Liang.

Contrary to what this project has portrayed, I am not actually a wizard (shocking, I know). I hope you can already tell, but I enjoy using design to explore my subjects of research in unconventional ways. My projects often serve as long-term therapy sessions where I untangle interal conflicts and anxieties. (Most recently, my imaginary cannibal deli). As a long-time skeptic and rationalist, Magic in the Machine is my attempt at understanding meaning-making through non-science and intuition, and applying that to the assumed rationality of technology like AI and machine learning.

I love tapping into other aspects of my creative interests — film, photography, music, etc. — to fuel the things I'm creating. Hence!
