Building Merlin

Scripting Merlin

I started with some sketches for a storyboard of the video. I only have a few ideas so far, but I think they're a good start for the language and art direction of the video (and perhaps the rest of the project as well.)

Dressing Merlin

I decided to pull up another skill that I have picked up during my exchange... sewing! I did some research and put together a moodboard of merlin the wizard (in me-form). Did I mention I was going to perform as a wizard? Now I have.

I visited People's Park Complex where I heard I would find good fabric shops, and the rumours were true. I was spoilt for choice!!! Some were better than others. I do not claim to be an expert at fabrics, but we will see where this takes me.

I ultimately decided to go with a blue fabric with gold to embellish with stars and moons. I also bought a mop that would function as my beard. I have no idea how I'm going to make it happen, but fingers crossed.

Open Studios Setup

I also started to plan the setup for open studios. Again, this is a rough sketch and will probably be subject to much change. I recognise that this is a LOT of work, but I'm aiming for the skies so i fall on the stars or whatever. Maybe I'll land on my face in the mud. Who knows...
